本身對韓國文化沒有特別興趣，既沒有追看韓劇，也沒有聽K-POP。但見韓國的軟實力席捲全球，因為好奇讀此書。 這是一本很好的入門書，從歷史、宗教、教育、社會、飲食文化至音樂、電影等，各個範疇都有深入介紹，十分全面。應該令人覺得沉悶的題目如宗教(只是對針本人而已...)，也寫得饒有趣味。由於行文流暢，可以很快讀完。譯者應記一功。讀完此書對韓國會更加有興趣。

I like this book very much not only because it tells you things about Chekhov that only known to his family & circle of friends, but also things about Russian life at the turn of the century, with anecdotes of interesting people, their vicissitudes, plus you could have a glimpse of Chekhov's characters through the eyes of his brother.
